Built to be the trustworthy source, not the loudest.

Cannabest is a cannabis retail directory built on live menu data. We track what dispensaries actually carry and what they charge, publish it with the date we last checked, and take no money for placement.

What we do

We maintain a directory of licensed cannabis dispensaries and the brands they stock. For markets we track closely, that includes daily menu data: what is on the shelf, what it costs, and when we last confirmed it.

Two things make that useful rather than redundant. The first is that our freshness is verifiable: every menu-derived fact on this site carries a real timestamp from our ingestion record, so you can see how current it is instead of taking our word for it. The second is that we connect the two halves. A dispensary page shows the brands it carries; a brand page shows the dispensaries carrying it and what they charge. Neither is much use alone.

What we do not do

We do not sell cannabis, process orders, or ship anything. We are not a marketplace.

We do not sell placement, ranking, favorable descriptions, or removal. There is no way to pay us to appear higher or look better, and there is no plan to build one.

We do not currently publish product reviews or scored rankings. When we do, they will name the person who did the work and the date they did it. We would rather ship a smaller honest site than imply expertise we have not yet earned.

Where we are

We are launching with Colorado, tracked in depth, alongside directory coverage nationally. Colorado is first because it is where our team is, which matters for the first-hand work we intend to add.

Coverage comes in three levels and we label them differently on purpose. Directory coverage means verified location and license information. Tracked coverage adds live menu data, pricing, and availability. Tested coverage adds first-hand work by a named person. Conflating those is how directories become untrustworthy, so we do not.

Who we are

Cannabest is owned and operated by Heady, a cannabis marketing agency. Some of Heady's clients appear in this directory, and we disclose that on every page where it applies. We chose to include them rather than exclude them, because a directory that quietly omits certain licensed businesses is a worse directory. The reasoning is spelled out in Disclosures.

Cannabest was founded by a small team who spent years on the marketing side of the cannabis industry, working with dispensaries and brands on how they show up online. The same problem kept surfacing: the information shoppers rely on is either out of date, paid for, or both. Cannabest exists to fix that with better data and published methods rather than better marketing.

We publish under a team byline rather than individual names. First-hand product and dispensary reviews, when they launch, will carry the name of the person who did the testing along with the date they did it, because that kind of claim should be attributable to a person.

How we work

Our data sources, verification process, freshness thresholds, and the standards a page must clear before we offer it to search engines are all documented in our Methodology. Our editorial standards are in our Editorial Policy.

If we get something wrong, tell us. We correct errors, we date the correction, and we do not quietly overwrite.
